Shout-out to growing audience around the world, and to the outstanding team on the Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity Women Build event this week.  (pictured)

Today's guests talk about handmade furniture... and how one hour a week will change someone's life (and yours!)  But first, this week's tip for your own home...

BE YOUR OWN DESIGNER TIP: Less 'Stuff' is Better

Having too much stuff is a burden, not a blessing.  No, you don't have to live an austere, monk-like existence,m but admittedly most of us have too much in our homes. You can't reach for anything new if you're arms are still hanging onto yesterday's junk. Learn the three simple steps to letting go of the clutter and keeping it that way.

1)  Junk Hunt:  out with the obvious
2)  Choose: The magic number
3)  Keeping It: easy rule, even a child can do

Kassidy & Brian Hetzel
YOU DID IT, COLORADO KASSIDY

Online educator Kassidy Hetzel and her husband Brian met on Match.com. ("Best $50 she ever spent!")  Then they tried everything in order to conceive. After seven agonizing years, they decided to be open to adoption. Precious Tucker became their son. (He's such a cutie!)  That's a match blessed by heaven,

Wanting to grow their family, they foster parented children, with hopes to adopt. When the "littlest angels" were returned to their birth families, they closed up the room and grieved. How did they heal? Read on.....
CREATIVITY HEALS:  Giving each other power tools for Christmas, (now that's true love!) Kassidy & Brian redid the previously closed room and turned it into a craft room, every crafter's dream.  They went on to create new Christmas decor, made a BBQ pit, and they even up-cycled Tucker's diaper changing table into a BBQ station (pictured). Kassidy wrote, "Building and actually creating something from nothing has been a very therapeutic experience for us. With each new piece we create we are replacing a bit of our grief and sadness with something beautiful that we are proud of."

Their story will inspire you; it sure inspired us.
This week’s music:  This is Home.  A perfect song for this sweet family's story.

BE YOUR OWN DESIGNER TIP

From your kitchen’s excesses, to your own clothes closet:  room by room suggestions of what to let go of now. Cue the Frozen music, "Let it Go!"

Why? Nature abhors a vacuum, so if you're believing for something better in your life,  make room for your highest good! You can do it.... let it go.
Go out and BE A LIGHT.... at home, at work and in the world.

BE YOUR OWN DESIGNER TIP OF THE WEEK

Give up clutter for Lent. 40 bags in 40 days, or even a bag a week. Either way you win.   Let go clothing, décor, books & movies that no longer reflect who / what you are TODAY. Doing so makes way for more good in your life.  For inspiration, see the links page for books to get you de-cluttering.

If you need help, contact Alana to help you clear the way to a better life.

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK

Nic Snowberger, owner of four Roswell McDonald’s. He created the first Dream Ambassador position in order to help his employees’ dreams come true.  Janice Anderson's sole job is to help the employees reach their goals. Some of the early results are in:
>Diana just opened her own tortilla shop!
>Three employees got their high school diplomas
> Nine employees are enrolled in college (more signing up this summer)
> Several are saving for their first vehicles
> One employee is working towards his retirement

Improved morale, low turnover and better teamwork are just a few of the many benefits. His favorite Ray Kroc saying, "It's amazing how much we can accomplish when it doesn't matter who gets the credit."  Sound business advice from Nic's father, and the book title that inspired his program.

When visiting Roswell, stop in and support this outstanding gentleman. He's changing lives. If every small business owner and manager followed Nic's example, imagine what a better world this would be.  We wish you and your employees continued success.
