When you see someone on the side of the road, what do you do?

​Anchorage’s Kenyada Waters stopped to help a man, and it changed his life. She paid his cell phone bill to reinstate service, and what do you know? Awaiting was a message from someone wanting to hire him. Full story here.   

Her giving heart doesn’t stop there. Kenyada’s church is raising money to help a Haiti orphanage. Kenyada truly embodies the spirit of Christmas.  Thank you for inspiring us all.

PRO CORNER / GIVING BACK Marcos Zubia, VP & Branch Manager for First National Bank talks about the long running 62 year Santa Fe tradition of the Tree & Train display at the First National Bank on the Plaza.  Hear how two people "saved Christmas".  You're invited to a special open house Sat. 12/17 from 10 am - 2 pm to take your pictures in front of the tree, have the kiddos run the train and talk to the Man himself, Santa.   

Marcos gives back to the community by teaching financial literacy to Capital High students, and by serving as Board President for Esperanza Shelter for battered families.  He's a great guy doing great things for the community in which he was raised.

YOU DID IT: Science writer and self-described creative dabbler, Alison Grieggs successfully refreshed a bathroom using chalk paint. Inspired by a vintage print, she pulled together her bathroom like a pro. She firmly believe that it’s only paint, and it’s much better to use a loved, painted vintage piece than tossing it and buying new. Congrat’s, Alison. You did it!

PRO CORNER: Barry Goldstein shares how music shifts a home’s energy. Musical prescription for shifting out of chaos into calm, and how to ignite your heart. ​PAYING IT FORWARD: Award winning Chef Ahmed Obo talks about his humble beginnings in Lamu, an island off of Kenya. Chef Ahmed opened Jambo Kids Clinic in Lamu, to give back to the island that nurtured him. Today the clinic is open 6 days a week and serves hundreds per month. 100% of our contribution goes towards sustaining the Jambo Kids Clinic, as Chef Ahmed and his Jambo Café / Jambo Imports cover all the administrative and fundraising costs.  Want to support this effort? What is the difference between Spanish vs. Southwest styles? Which style was colorful and vibrant? Integrating different styles in your home, and what speaks to your heart.
